At the end of the survey, the wreck site was covered with over fifty rice sacks filled with sand and then covered with layers of sand to protect it. The artefacts which had been recovered were photographed, tagged and placed in conservation at ADMAT’s Maritime Archaeological Centre.

The Team needs to complete the survey and find the bow section with the cant frames as well as aim to locate any ships construction on the starboard side of the ship. Therefore whilst the newly discovered information from this survey indicates that the board of enquiry was correct, we need to return to the wreck site to continue the excavationto find the remaining evidence.
