This is the third lecture from the ADMAT's "Excavating Shipwrecks " lecture series. This lecture talks about the forensic analysis of an unknown shipwreck seven miles east of Monte Cristi, Dominican Republic at the bottom of a fringe reef in eight meters of water. In a cave at the base of the reefs Dr Spooner found lead crystal perfume bottles rising up into the reef in a tunnel and the rest is legend.
After a forensic scientific analysis of the wrecking process the entire story of the French merchant ship Le Casimir was found in the French archives. Unfortunately this wreck site has been badly attacked by the looters and treasure hunters over the years and the Team has spent many years working on this large wreck site. The site whilst at the base of a reef stretches for over 400 meters and is buried mainly.
